Here's one long-term pick to win the BMW Championship

The PGA is heading to Olympia Fields for the BMW Championship, a tournament last hosted in 2020. It’s the second leg of the FedExCup qualifiers with only 50 players on the field.

The trail has narrow tree lined fairways which have received a lot of rain this week. Due to recent weather conditions, driving distance will be key as the trails will now be more receptive. Here’s one player that will make it back into the top 20 in the market, which I also consider a long shot at winning.

Top 20 +125

Top 10 +360

Top 5 +900

To win +5000

The Australian professional has been in the running with four top-20 finishes in his last five starts, including three consecutive top-10 finishes. After crashing out of T6 at the FedEx St. Jude, Davis has now gained hits in every category over that span. He has the metrics for the competition—21 in driving distance, top 10 for iron play between 150-200 yards and fourth around the green, which can come in handy with undulating greens. I’m looking at iron buckets because the course may play longer than the rain.

Olympia Fields has similar features to those of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. Davis finished T4 in his debut, getting nearly 10 hits with the ball. He hasn’t reached that number since. However, Davis was persistent.

Even with a T6 in The Players Championship, another event with a strong field, Davis is out of touch with 10 missed cuts on his 2023 resume. He may have found something at just the right time. A single PGA title holder can play on similar course layouts, on tough fields and be hot. Davis’ return to the top 20 markets sprinkled on his outright prospects.
